Portsmouth Sep 22 1827 At day-light tomorrow morning the Acorn is expected to sail from St. Helen's with the experimental squadron, to test the rates of sailing of the respective ships, combined with capacity. Acorn will carry 50 tuns of water.

Portsmouth 23 Jun 1828 Letters from Halifax report that the Acorn appears to be missing.

Portsmouth, July 19 1828 Letters from St. John's, Newfoundland, dated June 14, state that no tidings had been heard of the Acorn or Contest.
