Andorinha, 1829

Notes:
19 Feb 1829 Detained the Brazilian slave Brig Andorinha, at Lagos ; bound from Lagos River to Bahia, only carrying cargo.
21 Feb 1829 the Sybille's new tender, Andorinha, detained the Brazilian slave schooner Donna Barbara at lat. 3° 2' N., 4° 26' E. ; bound from Lagos River to Havanna. Of the 357 negroes on board the slave ship when she was arrested some 21 died before 86 men, 129 women, 136 children, were subsequently emancipated, once the Donna Barbara was condemned in the courts at Sierra Leone. It was Jan 1834 before the courts resolved their problems with prize money for the latter.
