8 Jun 1796 Dutch frigate Zephyr captured by the Andromeda 32, and two sloops, in the Firth of Forth ; where she was lying, unapprized of hostilities.
27 Jun-8 Jul 1800 involved in the operation to capture the French frigate Désirée from Dunkerque harbour and burn other vessels. The Désirée was subsequently purchased into the Service.

Circa 4 Jun 1800 in Margate Roads, as she was saluting, some powder blew up in the cabin, and deprived fourteen men of their sight, and otherwise wounded them in a most afflicting manner. Part of them are, however, expected to recover.
Circa 30 Jun 1800, Captain Mainwaring, of the Babet, is appointed to the Andromeda, and Captain Inman, of the Andromeda, is appointed to the command of La Desiree.
24 Oct 1800, Portsmouth, arrived the Andromeda, from the Downs.
30 Nov 1800, Portsmouth, sailed the Fairy, to Falmouth, to collect the outwardbound ships, who, with the Andromeda, and Bourdelais, will convoy them to the West Indies, as soon as the wind permits.
1 Dec 1800, Portsmouth, sailed with Lord Lavington on board, for the West Indies.
7 Dec 1800, Portsmouth, sailed the Andromeda, and Bourdelais, with a convoy for the West Indies.
24 Mar 1801 Is reported to have arrived at Barbadoes with her convoy.
