26 Jun 1897 Present at the Naval Review at Spithead in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee.
27 Jun 1900 Devonport. Orders received for a naval mobilization to take place on Tuesday, July 10th - see Colossus for details.
27 Jun 1900 The Admiralty have ordered that the cruiser Blake at Devonport is to be provided with seagoing stores and ammunition, with a view to being commissioned for immediate service in China. The Blake is one of the most powerful cruisers afloat, and carries a crew of six hundred officers and men. It is anticipated that other cruisers at Devonport will be commissioned at an early date for similar service.
