26 Jun 1841 Pembroke Dockyard, to be launched on the 3d July. 1 Jul 1841 Avon departed Plymouth for Pembroke with a party of men for the San Josef, to rig and bring the frigate Cambrian back to Plymouth. 19 Jul 1841 Plymouth, arrived from Pembroke. 20 Aug 1841 Plymouth, has been commissioned by Captain H. D. Chads. 24 Aug 1841 embarked her detachment of marines at Plymouth. 28 Aug 1841 Lieutenant A. S. Austen ; Purser R. M. Read ; Mate F. G. Simpkinson, appointed to the Cambrian ; 4 Sep 1841 Surgeon John Smith (c), appointed to the Cambrian ; 4 Sep 1841 Master J. N. King ; Assistant Surgeon N. L. Dolling, appointed to the Cambrian (acting) ; Mate L. G. Pigot, appointed to the Cambrian. 11 Sep 1841 Lieutenant George Winsor ; Mate L. P. Pigott, appointed to the Cambrian 18 Sep 1841 Mate W. F. L Curtis, appointed to the Cambrian. 2 Nov 1841 Plymouth, was towed into the Sound by the Prospero. 8 Nov 1841 Plymouth, departed for Bombay, with the Governor-General of India, and from thence to China. 22 Nov 1841, arrived at Teneriffe, with the Gov.-Gen. of India onboard.

21 Feb 1842 touched at Madras, in 99 days from Plymouth, departing for Calcutta, where her ETA was supposed to be 1 March.
