1780 Rodney's victory off Cape St Vincent over Spanish.
Portsmouth 2 Oct 1785 came into harbour.
14 Apr 1793, with a squadron, en route for the Mediterranean, which captured the San-Iago, a large Spanish galleon, under French colours and the French privateer General Dumourier, of 22 long 6-pounders and 196 men, an event which may have had some effect on the resulting war with Spain.
14 Jul 1793 sailed with the Channel fleet from St. Helen's. On the 18th to the west of the Scilly Isles and subsequent manoeuvres.
31 Jul 1793 briefly sighted, but was unable to close the French fleet ; returned to Torbay on 10 Aug.
23 Aug 1793 the Channel Fleet sailed to escort the Newfoundland trade, West Indian convoys in home waters.
27 Oct 1793 sailed in search of the French fleet and squadrons. 18 Nov brief skirmish with a French squadron : by mid-December the fleet had returned to Spithead.
Circa 10 May 1799 having left Gibraltar for Tetuan bay to water, returned to Gibraltar to join the fleet.
11 May 1799 sailed with the fleet for the Mediterranean.
20 May 1799 went aground off Minorca : assisted by the Barfleur and Defence, anchored in Port-Mahon : sailed on 23 to join the Fleet on a cruise.
Circa 12 Mar 1801 fleet under Admiral Sir Hyde Parker sailed from Yarmouth roads for Copenhagen. 30 Mar the vessels initially detailed to take part in the forthcoming Battle of Copenhagen. 1 Apr the vessels detailed sail for Copenhagen ; the British ships held in reserve ; the Danish positions : 2 Apr the battle commences : the truce : the casualties : the wash-up :
12 Apr 1801 the fleet sailed from Copenhagen into the Baltic.
8 May 1801 to cruise off Carlscrona.
Doubled and sheathed &c.from upper part of wales to keel and strengthened with diagonal braces
May 1805 Chatham repairing in Ordinary.
9 - 11 Aug 1808 involved in the evacuation of 10,000 Spanish troops from Denmark to England and thence to Spain, following Spain's determination to evict the French invaders from Spain, which involved a boat action against the Danish vessels Fama, and Salorman.
Portsmouth 2 Jan 1810 Arrived with a convoy.
