14 Mar 1836 Sam. Libby apptd as Acting Master to the packet Express (NNL 8/1842).

Portsmouth 12 Nov 1837 the Rose reports that she spoke with the Express on 23 Oct at lat 25 long. 3, en route from Falmouth for the Barbadoes.

11 Feb 1841 arrived Falmouth from Rio Janeiro (15 Dec).

5 Sep 1841, arrived at Belize, from Havannah, and sailed for Vera Cruz on the 7th.

14 Jun 1844 at Rio de Janeiro.

13 Sep 1853 the Flag Officer on the Brazil Station, R.Adm. Henderson, reports that the Express and Trident have been sent to watch for a vessel called the Maria Isabel, expected off the Island of Marambaya, and probably involved in the slave trade.

15 Nov 1853 Has lately been employed on the coast cruising between Pernambuco and St. Catherine's.

3 Oct 1854 cruising between Bahia ? and Rio Grande de Norte, a few miles south of Cape St. Roque. All quite with respect to the slave trade.
