17 Oct 1888, the ship's steam cutter captured a slave dhow off the coast of Zanzibar with 74 slaves onboard, but at the cost of Lt Myles H. Cooper, killed ; Caulker's Mate Alexander Petty, severely wounded ; and Sailmaker's Mate William Ward, badly wounded. 19 Oct the dhow was condemned by the Vice-Admiralty court at Zanzibar.
