Type: schooner ; Armament 10
Launched : ?; Disposal date or year : ?
Notes:

12 Dec 1800, Plymouth, a letter received at Saltash dated 13 Oct., reports the arrival of the armed schooner Gypsey, 10 x 4-pounders, and 40 men, Lt C. Boger, with a French brig privateer, 10 guns, 45 seamen, and 57 soldiers, returning to Antigua, from Rigaud's expedition against Curacoa : this action was well fought on both sides for nearly two hours, and the fire of the musquetry of the French chasseurs was severe; the privateer attempted to run the Gypsey on board, but by the Gypsey's manoeuvring, and the persevering gallantry of Lt Boger, his Officers, and crew, a severe contest obliged her to strike her colours. Lt Boger and his master were wounded, and three men ; but they were, by the Surgeon's account who attended them, in a fair way of recovery.
