Gunnery Notes: Amidship turrets are very cramped together, and broadside of 8 - 12 inch can only be rarely fired. Armour Notes: Internal magazine screens not continuous between end barbettes. Torpedo Notes: Stern tube removed during war. General Notes: Begun under 1905-6 Estimates. Average cost of each, about £1,752,000 = £101.6 per ton. These ships at full speed burn about 500 tons of coal a day, plus about 125 tons of oil. They are not very steady gun platforms Average cost of machinery, about £472,000. Invincible of this class lost in Battle of Jutland . Inflexible severely damaged by a mine in the bombardment of the Dardanelles, March 18th, 1915. Placed in Reserve. 1919.
