15 Sep 1808 As Laurel taken off Isle de France, by the French 40-gun frigate Canonnière. Captain J. C. Woolcombe

12 Apr 1810 off the isle of Ré, Unicorn captured the late British 22-gun ship Laurel, at this time named Espérance, armed en flute.

1810 Renamed Laurestinus.

Portsmouth 2 Sep 1812 Sailed on a cruise.

11 Apr 1813, arrived Halifax with the frigate Æolus, which had sprung a leak after leaving Bermuda, en route for the Chesapeake.

3 May 1813, departed Halifax, Laurestinus, Capt. Graham, for Bermuda.

20 Jun 1813 Barrosa and Laurestinus sail to provide support for the Junon, then being attacked by US gun boats of the James river.
