Admiralty Agent in charge of Mails

Notes:

Note. These officers were usually sent to Merchant Steam Ships contracted by the Admiralty to carry mail. One would therefore assume that they were responsible for the mail on board these vessels. Those agents operating out of Falmouth would generally be appointed to the Astraea, store and receiving ship etc. at Falmouth.

11 Sep 1841, Lieutenant Thomas H, Prior, appointed to be Admiralty Agent in charge of Mails.
