Jul 10, 1877 Struck an unmarked reef off Fernando Po.

13 Aug 1877 River Gaboon : under orders for the River Niger. Her surgeon had died.

29 Nov 1877 Arrived Accra from Whydah and sailed 30th for Sierra Leone.

19 Feb 1879 Recommissioned at Sierra Leone.

12 Mar 1879 Sailed for the River Gambia.

8 May 1879 Arrived Sierra Leone from River Gambia.

SL 29 Jun 1879 Returned from Scarcies River. Repairing defects.
