26 Jun 1897 Present at the Naval Review at Spithead in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee.

19 Sep 1899, sailed for the Cape of Good Hope, calling at Las Palmas and St. Helena for coal.

14 Oct 1899, arrived at the Cape of Good Hope.

25 Oct 1899, prepared guns for Ladysmith.

8 May 1900 Hong Kong. The cruiser has arrived here. She was met at Lymoon Pass by 50 steam launches with flags flying and whistles blowing, those onboard cheering lustfily. The launches escorted the Terrible to her buoy in the harbour. Sir John Carrington, Chief Justice of Hong Kong immediately went onboard the Terrible, and presented an address on behalf of the British community, welcoming the captain, officers and crew.

9 May 1900 The acting governor reviewed the Naval Brigade of HMS Terrible. Major General Gascoigne, the Acting Governor, today reviewed the Naval Brigade of HMS Terrible. The ceremony evoked great enthusiasm among the in habitants, who assembled witness it in large numbers. The men will dine at the City Hall to-night as the guests of the Hongkong community. 5 Jul 1900 Serving in Chinese waters during the Boxer Rebellion. A welcome addition to the defence [at Tientsin] arrived yesterday in the shape of two more of the. Terrible's 12-pounders with " Ladysmith to Tientsin - Immediate " painted on the carriages.
