† Shown as Tarrier in the Naval Chronicle for 1799 p. 264, but as Terrier in Rif Winfield's British Warships in the Age of Sail 1793-1817 9. 418. The capture of the Sans Pareil was also recorded against the Terrier by her commanding officer in the London Gazette, so Tarrier would appear to be a misprint ?
8 Apr 1798 this Evening, Ostend bearing S.S.E. 7 Leagues, captured the French schooner privateer Sans Pariel, 1 x 6 Pounder and 8 Swivels, 21 Men, and commanded by M. Jacques Francois Doré, from Ostend, not taken anything. Tho. Lowen.

26 Mar 1800 the Terrier, Lieutenant R. Donovan, employed for some time off Dunkirk with the sloops Plover and Atalante, watching the 4 French frigates which are reported to have been in the harbour there about 2 years.
