H.M.S. Acheron may now be considered overdue. She left the Cape on the 15th June, and ought to have arrived at the Swan River about the 12th July. Allowing her to remain there fourteen days, and twelve days for the passage from the Swan to Sydney, she ought to have arrived on Thursday. We regret to state that during the stay of the Acheron at the Cape, Mrs. Stokes, the wife of the captain, died. Mrs. S. has a number of relations in Sydney, who were anxiously expecting her arrival, when they received the sudden and unexpected news of her decease.
