The Leander, 52, built in the North Dock, on the design of Mr. Blake, was floated out today, after being named by Miss Prescott daughter of Rear-Admiral Superintendent Prescott, C.B.

Dimensions:-

Length on the water line, 181 feet 4½ inches :
length of keel for tonnage, 148 feet 11½ inches;
extreme breadth, 59 feet 9 inches;
breadth for tonnage, 50 feet 1 inch ;
breadth moulded, 149 feet 5 inches;
depth of hold, 25 feet 8 inches.
Burden, 1987 75.94 tons (sic).
