The cutter Alpha, from Launceston, arrived at Port Nicholson on the 16th, and the three-masted schooner Osprey, from Hobart Town, on the 23rd of July ; the former sailed again for Nelson on the 28th of July, and the latter for Hobart Town on the 7th ultimo. The brig Regia, hence, arrived at Port Nicholson on the 12th ultimo. H. M. S. Fly sailed for Nelson, Akaroa, and Otakou, on the 7th ultimo, with Lieutenant-Governor Eire, and Messrs. Mantell and Wells, Commissioners for purchasing up native claims to land in the Middle Island.
