Pay for Draughtsmen
At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 9th day of March, 1914.

Present, The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council.

Whereas there was this day read at the Board a Memorial from the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, dated the 3rd day of March, 1914, in the words following, viz.:-

Whereas by Section 3 of the Naval and Marine Pay and Pensions Act, 1865, etc.

And whereas by Order in Council, bearing date the 26th day of October, 1896, the emoluments of the Naval rating of Draughtsman were fixed at 5s. 6d. per diem, inclusive of victualling or allowance in lieu

And whereas we now consider it desirable that those emoluments should be revised in order to admit of periodical increases of pay being granted to Active Service Draughtsmen :

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the substitution, as regards Active Service men, of the improved scale of pay set forth in the annexed Schedule for that hitherto in force, the revised scale to take effect as from the 1st January, 1914.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.

His Majesty having taken the said Memorial into consideration, was pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to approve of what is therein proposed. And the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty are to give the necessary directions herein accordingly.

Draughtsmen approved for Staff of CinC Mediterranean
At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 7th day of May, 1928.

Present, The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council.

Whereas there was this day read at the Board a Memorial from the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, dated the 27th day of April, 1928 (N. 1170/28), in the words following, viz.:-

Whereas by Section 3 of the Naval and Marine Pay and Pensions Act, 1865, it is enacted, inter alia, that all pay, pensions, or other allowances in the nature thereof, payable in respect of services in Your Majesty's Naval or Marine Force to a person being or having been an Officer, Seaman, or Marine therein, shall be paid in such manner, and subject to such restrictions, conditions, and provisions, as are from time to time directed by Order in Council:

And whereas we consider it expedient that a Naval rating should be employed as a Draughtsman on the staff of the Commander-in-Chief, Mediterranean Station, for the purpose of analysing the results of Fleet exercises and of preparing scale drawings:

And whereas we consider that this duty warrants the payment of an allowance to the rating selected to act as Draughtsman:

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to authorize the payment. of an allowance of 9d. a day to the Naval rating employed as Draughtsman in the Fleet Flagship of the Mediterranean Fleet.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.

His Majesty, having taken the said Memorial into consideration, was pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to approve of what is therein proposed.

Whereas there was this day read at the Board a Memorial from the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, dated the 9th day of September, 1931 (N. 3069/31), in the words following, viz.:-

Whereas by Section 3 of the Naval and Marine Pay and Pensions Act, 1865, it is enacted inter alia that all pay, pensions or other allowances in the nature thereof payable in respect of services in Your Majesty's Naval or Marine Force to a person being or having been an Officer, Seaman or Marine therein shall be paid in such manner and subject to such restrictions, conditions anal provisions as are from time to time directed by Order in Council:

And whereas by Your Order in Council dated the 7th day of May, 1928, Your Majesty was graciously pleased to authorise the payment of an allowance of 9d. a day to the Naval rating employed as Draughtsman in the Fleet Flagship of the Mediterranean Fleet:

And whereas we consider it necessary that a Naval rating shall be employed on similar duties in the Atlantic Fleet and that this duty warrants. the payment of a similar allowance:

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased, by Your Order in Council, to authorise the payment of an allowance of 3d. a day to the Naval rating employed as Draughtsman in the Fleet Flagship of the Atlantic Fleet.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.

His Majesty, having taken the said Memorial into consideration, was pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to approve of what is therein proposed.

And the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty are to give the necessary directions herein accordingly.

Draughtsmen - Levant Command
At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 20th day of January, 1944.

Present, The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council.

Whereas there was this day read at the Board a Memorial from the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, dated the 22nd day of December, 1943 (N. 29372/43), in the words following, viz.:-

Whereas by Section 3 of the Naval and Marine Pay and Pensions Act, 1865, it is enacted, inter alia, that all pay, pensions or other allowances in the nature thereof payable in respect of services in Your Majesty's Naval or Marine Force to a person being or having been an Officer, Seaman, or Marine therein, shall be paid in such manner and subject to such restrictions, conditions and provisions as are from time to time directed by Order in Council:

And whereas by Orders in Council bearing dates the 7th day of May, 1928, and the 1st day of October, 1931, payment of an allowance of 9d. a day was authorised to the Naval ratings employed as Draughtsmen in the Fleet Flagships of the Mediterranean and Atlantic Fleets:

And whereas we consider it necessary that three Naval ratings shall be employed on similar duties in the Levant Command and that this duty warrants the payment of a similar allowance:

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to authorise the payment of an allowance of 9d. a day to the three Naval ratings employed as Draughtsmen in the Levant Command with effect from the date of commencement of the duties.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.

His Majesty, having taken the said Memorial into consideration, was pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to approve of what is therein proposed.

And the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty are to give the necessary directions herein accordingly.
