Tuition Allowance for Naval Instructor at HMS Excellent
At the Court at St. James's, the 31st May, 1910.

Present, The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council.

Whereas there was this day read at the Board a Memorial from the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, dated the 21st April, 1910, in the words following, viz.:-

Whereas by section three of the Naval and Marine Pay and Pensions Act, 1865, etc.

And whereas in order to meet the requirements of Your Majesty's Naval Service, we have recently found it necessary to institute an advanced coarse of training for a proportion of the Gunners of Your Majesty's Fleet:

And whereas Instructional work of a more advanced nature will consequently devolve upon the Naval Instructor of Your Majesty's Ship "Excellent;" in addition to his other duties :

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction a tuition allowance of one hundred pounds per annum being paid to this Officer as from 14th February, 1910, in the place of the allowance of thirty-six pounds ten shillings per annum authorized by Order in Council of 13th January, 1902.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.

His Majesty having taken the said Memorial into consideration, was pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to approve of what is therein proposed, and the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty are to give the necessary directions herein accordingly.
