Hydrophone allowance while allocated for Hydrophone duties in vessels not carrying qualified Submarine Detectors

Whereas there was this day read at the Board a Memorial from the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, dated 17 May, 1922 (N. 5499/22), in the words following, viz. :

And whereas conditions in certain vessels in Your Majesty's Navy render inexpedient the employment therein of the fully qualified Submarine Detectors authorized by Your Order in Council of the 10 August, 1921:

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased, by Your Order in Council, to sanction the institution as from the 18 March, 1922, of a Hydrophone allowance of 3d. a. day to Naval ratings while allocated for Hydrophone duties in vessels not carrying qualified Submarine Detectors.

Changed Rules for Allowance for ratings employed on Hydrophone Duties
And whereas Your Majesty was pleased, by Your Order in Council of the 25th May, 1922, to authorize the payment of an allowance of 3d. a day to Naval ratings allocated for duty with hydrophones in vessels of Your Majesty's Navy not carrying Submarine Detector ratings:

And whereas we consider that this allowance should be extended to ratings allocated for duty with hydrophones in vessels of Your Majesty's Navy notwithstanding the fact that Submarine Detector ratings may also be borne and paid therein:

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased, by Your Order in Council, to authorize the payment as from the 6th July, 1925, of an allowance of 3d. a day to Naval ratings employed on Hydrophone duties, in the circumstances stated in the preceding paragraph.
