Repair Work and for charge of Repair Stores - Allowances
At the Court at Saint Jamesís, the 18th day of October, 1910.

Present, The Kingís Most Excellent Majesty in Council.

Whereas there was this day read at the Board a Memorial from the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, of 13th September, 1910, in the words following, viz :-

Whereas by section three of the Naval and Marine Pay and Pensions Act, 1865, etc.

And whereas by His late Majesty's Order in Council of 2nd April, 1909, provision was made for the payment of an allowance of one shilling a day to the Gunner and Carpenter of Torpedo Boat Destroyer Depot Ships for repair work and for charge of Repair Stores :

And whereas the Torpedo Gunner and the Boatswain where borne, have as much repair work to perform as the Gunner and Carpenter :

And whereas We are of opinion that each of these Officers should receive an allowance for repair work :

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the payments set forth in the following schedule :

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal :

* The number of allowances payable in each vessel is to be regulated by the number of Officers allowed by complement for repair work.

An Officer carrying out the duties of another during a temporary vacancy is to receive a further 6d. a day for the period during which he performs double duty.

His Majesty having taken the said Memorial into consideration, was pleased, by and with the advice of. His Privy Council, to approve of what is therein proposed. And the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty are to give the necessary directions herein accordingly.
